We are born with certain specific movements that are called ‘Primary’, ‘Primitive’ or ‘Early’ reflexes. These movements are unconscious and they limit our ability to move freely if they are not naturally inhibited.
As we grow older these reflexes ‘calm down’ and the restrictions they placed on our movements disappear.
When, for (as yet) unknown reasons, some of these reflexes are still present in our bodies after 4 or 5 years of age, they create developmental delays and learning difficulties.
